Chapter Two: Created for Mercy.

Jeremiah 1:5. Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born, I dedicated you, a prophet to the nations I appointed you.

Born April 9, 1964 and baptized into the Light, under the protection of the patron saint of grandmothers, St. Anne. There are no accidents or coincidences in life, for God sees all and knows all. Saint Anne, selected patron of this new born babe, would intercede for, protect and eventually instruct this baby girl throughout her lifetime. This great saint, along with many others, would help illuminate her pathway towards the Light of God’s LoveThe baby girl grew in a protected and inviting nursery of sorts, with all the sun light, food, fertilizer and water needed to thrive and develop. She was content and found herself naturally drawn to the light. No choice has been made, for she was born into the light, surrounded by the light and simply found her home in the light. If only things could remain that simple. The world of darkness, however, had other plans for this daughter of God. For there can be no real life with the Eyes of Mercy, without confronting the prince of darkness and actively choosing the Light of God’s Love. During these moments of difficulty, when all seems lost, the interceders and patrons in our life cry out for God to send a life line or ray of hope our way. His ever present light is always there for us, even in our darkest of moments, all we must do is simply look up, reach out and grab it. It is then that the Healing Eyes of Mercy can lead us home.

Qasr el Yahud: Traditional Baptismal Site of Jesus.

Qasr el Yahud, the traditional baptismal site of Jesus, is located in the wilderness of the Jordan River Valley, north of the Dead Sea and east of Jericho. This holy site, located on the eastern bank of the River Jordan, is currently managed by the country of Israel. Across the river, within the country of Jordan, one sees the remains of a Byzantine church dating back to the 4th and 5th century, pointing to the ancient tradition associated with this site. Other biblical events associated with this site include Joshua’s leading of the Israelites across the river into the promised land of Canaan (Joshua 3) and Elijah the prophets ascent into heaven on a fiery chariot (2Kings).

It is here that Jesus Christ was baptized by John the Baptist at the start of His 3 year ministry. Baptism with water, practiced since the beginning of the Church, represents admission into the Christian community and is believed essential for salvation. Through baptism, Christians associate with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus and therefore are born to new life through Christ.

John 3:5. “Truly, truly, I say to you, no one can enter into God’s kingdom without being begotten of water and Spirit.”

DSC026291Peter 3:21. “This baptism is no removal of physical stain, but the pledge to God of an irreproachable conscience through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

Closing 3:00 prayer for Divine Mercy:

Eternal Father, I offer you, the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity, of your dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and the sins of the entire world.

For the sake of His Sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the entire world.           (repeat two more times)

Jesus, I trust in You. Amen
